A to Z Challenge / Theme

Welcome to my official theme announcement for the 2016 A to Z challenge!

I have decided to participate in something called the A to Z Challenge during the month of April. This is a personal blogging challenge to post every day for the whole month of April (except Sundays) using a letter of the alphabet for every day. The idea is to make better blogging habits, such as posting on a regular basis and planning posts, and to challenge myself with more diverse blog post content. There is also an aspect of networking, where you try to visit other blogs to support and connect with other bloggers.

I was supposed to do a big reveal on March 21st of my theme for the challenge, so that you, Dear Reader, would know what my theme for all the posts in April would be. So, in typical procrastinatorial fashion, I am posting several days like a week later.

When I found out I was supposed to have a theme, my indecision kicked in. I’m terrible at being restrained by labels picking one thing to stick to and I thought that a theme might be restrictive. However, I have decided to pick the theme of (drum roll) Travel! With the theme of travel I can be sufficiently free in terms of expression but hopefully not be all over the board.

The posting part of the challenge will start on April 1st (that’s Friday). I look forward to growing and improving my blog, and perhaps making some new blogging friends on the way! I hope you will enjoy whatever comes out of this challenge on my blog ^^

  5. That is a great idea for a theme. This is my first year participating, and while I am usually a very organized person, I didn’t want to stick to just one theme for my first year, so I opted out of the theme reveal. Maybe next year though because I am getting some great ideas! Good luck! Cassie from Mommy, RN

    • This is my first year too! I thought a theme would be fun, because with A to Z there is such an unlimited amount of topics that I don’t know how I’d choose! Good luck with your challenge as well!

  6. Hello, fellow A to Z’er! I too missed the Great Reveal. I’m always a day late and a dollar short. I had themes in previous years, but I couldn’t settle on one this time. So, it will be eclectic and random and (hopefully) fun. Good luck!

    • I’m glad I’m not the only procrastinator… I’m lucky I even remembered when it was going to start ^^; For me, having a theme is just a way to narrow down the endless topics that pop up with A to Z, but I think changing the topic daily could be a lot of fun as well! Good luck to you as well ^^

  7. What a nice idea! I’ve already procrastinated for almost three weeks again. The only topic I could write about for a whole months might be my in-laws, cats or Japan haha. Topic 2 and 3 might not be possible for my blog, and topic 1 might not be too good as I decided not to complain so much about them anymore. 😦

    • It’s turning out to be a fun challenge! I’m sure you could find many things to write about, and you don’t even need a theme to do the challenge! I just wanted to narrow down the large amounts of options so I can pick just one thing to write about for each letter ^^
